Obituary of Michael Lane Murrah Michael Lane Murrah, born March 15th, 1952, of Athens, Alabama, passed away at Huntsville Hospital Main in Huntsville, Alabama, on Monday, November 28th, 2022.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, James Ernest Murrah and Reba Ball Murrah, brothers James Murrah of Athens, Alabama and Glen Murrah of Ardmore, Tennessee.

He is survived by his son, Jason Murrah of Waco Texas, brothers Wendell Murrah of Athens, Alabama and Roger Murrah, of Franklin, Tennessee, sister Tina Murrah Swindell (Bill), nieces Connie Murrah Fain of Athens, Alabama, Sandra Murrah Arnold, (Jake) of Wetumpka, Alabama, Marla Murrah DeLong (Keith) of Knoxville Tennessee, Kacey Swindell of Chattanooga, Tennessee, great nephews, James, David (Anna), great nieces Sarah, Gracie, Jordan (Collin), Emmy, great nephew, Griffin, great great nephew Elliott, and great great nieces Aris and Oswin.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date and no visitation at this time. In lieu of flowers and memorials the family asks that random acts of kindness be done in Michael’s honor as he was known to do both privately and publicly on many occasions.

He was a loving, empathetic, and creative singer, songwriter, and drummer with the heart and wisdom of a poet. He cared deeply for the less fortunate and spent his life selfless and giving to those around him.
