Red Bay Police Recruit Charged With Electronic Solicitation Of A Minor

RED BAY-A man who was finishing the police academy and was employed the Red Bay Police Department has been charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child.

On November 24 it was discovered by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department that Bronnie Grissom, 31 of Vina had been sending inappropriate messages to several underaged girls via Snapchat. According to authorities from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office one message sent by Grissom included a message where he had tried to lure a girl to meet him for sex.

After being contacted by the FFCSO the Red Bay Police fired Grissom.  During an investigation of the incidents Grissom admitted sending the messages to the girls using Snapchat.

Grissom has been arrested and has been jailed in the Franklin County Jail on $25,00 bond.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies continue to interview potential victims and witnesses and are awaiting results from forensic investigation of several electronic devices.  Authorities say further charges could be forthcoming.
