Barbara Myers passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born January 28, 1939, in Birmingham, AL to the late John C. and Marietta Gustin Jr. They would take her and her late brother, John C. Gustin III. camping each year, where she developed a love of the outdoors and for water sports that include fishing, swimming, and water skiing. She was a member of her high school and college band. She met her husband Tom of sixty-two years in college, and they married while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They lived in Oregon, Alaska, and California before returning home to raise their family. Before her retirement she was a chemistry and science teacher in Florida. Tom and Barbara have four children, sons, Scott Myers and wife, Judy of Huntsville, AL and Craig Myers and wife, Julie of Murfreesboro; daughters, Traci Hussong and husband, Lynn of Lewisburg and Lynda Williams and husband, Richard of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren, Ryan Myers, Zoe Myers, Brett Hussong, Brooke Cowart, Riley Williams, Gage Ventry, Cade Myers, Missy Langley, Chris Myers; and seven great- grandchildren, Angel, Autumn, Liam, CJ, Hadlie, Daxton and Blair. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by a grandson, Tim Myers. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 12pm to 1pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 1pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
