Roger Linton, 79, of Huntsville, AL passed away November 22, 2022. Roger was born in Atlanta, GA to Gerald and Dorothy Linton. He met the love of his life, Ilene Miller Linton, on a blind date on New Year’s Eve 1963 and they were married 58 years.

Roger was one of eight physics majors from the University of Georgia. He took a job with NASA in Huntsville, AL, and has lived here ever since. One of his friends said “Roger made significant contribution to early satellite and spacecraft designs and then all the way through the Apollo and STS programs. He was also a wonderful colleague and delightful person. Those who had the opportunity to work with him were truly blessed.” During his time in Huntsville, he made many lifelong friends. Roger’s greatest accomplishment and joy was his family that he loved dearly.

Roger was a published author of history for which he was very proud. He loved his Temple B’nai Sholom family and served as Treasurer of the Temple and Brotherhood President.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife, Ilene Linton; son, David Linton (Marcia) of Tampa, FL; daughter, Shelly Reynolds (Donald) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Danielle Linton, Julia Linton, Benjamin Reynolds, Eli Reynolds, and Isaac Reynolds; brother, Jerry Linton; and sister, Beverly Linton.

A service will be held at a later date.
