James Halbert Jackson, Sr., 75, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He worked in sales at the Lee County Co-Op, and at Purnell’s Pride Feed Mill, before working in the maintenance department at Mueller Copper Tube, from where he retired after 30 years. He was a member of the Mantachie United Methodist Church. He was an avid fisherman.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Rev. Joe Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Paulette Murrell Jackson; one son, Butch Jackson (Kim); one sister, Doris McCreary (Mitchell); two brothers, Larry Jackson (Marsha), and Lonnie Jackson (Tae); one grandson, CJ Jackson (Brianna); one granddaughter, Victoria Dill (Preston); four great granddaughters, Collins Jackson, Everly Jackson, Livvy James Jackson, and Paisley Dill; “almost” granddaughters, Melyndie, Rebekah, Melanie, and Anna; two brother in-laws, Billy Lindsey and Franklin Murrell (Callie); one sister-in-law, Donna Kaye Murrell; one aunt, Annette Jackson; a host of other family members.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Hellen Lindsey; one brother-in-law, Terry Murrell; one uncle, Paul Jackson; and his parents, James Lowell and Edna Earl Gholston Jackson.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
