Lance Allen Phares, 63, of Huntsville passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Lance was born July 31, 1959, in Maryville, TN. He and his family later moved to Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Grissom High School in 1977. He was then employed by NTS, formerly Wyle Laboratories, for 40 years. He not only managed but built lifelong friendships with many of his co-workers, and those he met while traveling for the company. He spent many years with his co-workers competing in BBQ cookoffs as the “Wyle Coyotes”, laughing and gathering with friends and family. He married his wife Karen in December 1992 and later had two daughters, Emily and Hanna. He spent many years cheering on the Crimson Tide, working in his yard, coaching, and cheering on countless sports for his daughters. He supported his family in everything they did and was always there to meet any need. Anyone that knew him knew he was constantly talking and bragging about his family. He loved them fiercely.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Phares Hall. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen Phares; his children, Emily Phares, Woodbury, MN, and Hanna Lovell and husband, Chase, Huntsville; parents, Glenn and Polly Phares, Huntsville; siblings, Nancy Dove and husband Jim, Jefferson, GA, Bruce Phares and wife, Sundy, Athens, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be having a small private gathering. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Big Oak Ranch.
