Charlotte Miller Hagewood passed from this life on Monday. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Melissa Miller and her beloved husband of 62 years, William Neil Hagewood. She is survived by her four children, Melissa Davis (Lavaughn), Steve Hagewood (Sheila), Kenny Hagewood (Gayle), and Jimmy Hagewood; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Miller; and many nephews and nieces.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful servant of God, as an elder’s wife and member at the Weatherly Heights Church of Christ.

Her interests were varied. After retirement from the U. S. Army Civil Service, she volunteered at the Weeden House Museum and Garden. She enjoyed traveling with her high school friends, “The Jolly Dollies”, and with her high school sweetheart and husband, Neil. She enjoyed hosting parties and playing bridge with friends.

Her grandchildren have described her as lovely, classy, funny, sassy, witty, strong, and one who gave them unconditional love.

A private family graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Athens Bible School, 700 U. S. Highway 31 N, Athens, AL 35611.
