Mr. Freddie Glynn CarringtonFreddie Glynn Carrington, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Freddie was 80 years old, born on May 25, 1942 to James H. and Fostene Goodman Carrington of Henderson County, TN.

Freddie was a veteran, having served 4 years of the United States Air Force. He served 2 years in the Philippine Islands. Following his years of military service, Freddie worked for Motor Parts and Bearings, Lexington, TN. Later he opened his own business, Central Wholesale Auto Parts, Parsons, TN., for several years. Then he began a career with Parts Incorporated, Memphis, TN, where he excelled in sales. He traveled extensively, making many friends among the stores and contacts on his routes throughout various states. Freddie later retired from O’Reilly Auto Parts.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Doris Wilson Carrington of Lexington, TN; two sons, Jerry Glynn Carrington (Misty and Ledger) of Lexington, TN and Terry Lynn Carrington (Linda) of Darden, TN; four grandchildren, Brandon Carrington (April) of Parsons, TN; Blake Carrington of Lexington, TN; Tana Wyatt (Wesley) of Decaturville, TN, and Salena Davidson (Daniel) of White House, TN; and seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Wyatt, Caroline Wyatt, Jaxon Carrington, Jemison Carrington, Anna Belle Carrington, Jacob Allen and Jase Allen.

Freddie and Doris raised their sons in Darden, TN where Freddie served as a Deacon of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Freddie was now a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, where he served as Deacon. He loved singing gospel music and sang for several years with the Gospel Echoes, a group he helped form. He also sang with the Never Alone group with Wayne Richardson, Dan Nolen, Billy Bob Thomas, and Jeremy Lawson.

Pallbearers are Brandon Carrington, Blake Carrington, Wesley Wyatt, Brian Johnson, Jason Alexander, and Jeremy Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Hedspeth, Kenneth Davis and Billy Bob Thomas.

Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2022 at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington from 4-9 PM and on Saturday, November 12 at First Baptist Church of Lexington from 10 AM until funeral service at 2 PM with Dr. Clay Hallmark, Dr. Hoyt Wilson, and Bro. Mike Thrower officiating. Music will be led by Bro. Bob Hull. Burial will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Darden.
