Funeral services for Alvin Moody, age 73, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, November the 5th in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Bro. Damon Brawley and Bro. Tony Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mazies Chapel Cemetery near Lexington.
Alvin, the son of Richard and Addie Mae Tate Moody, died late Thursday, November the 3rd, 2022 in Jackson. He was a faithful member of Ridge Grove Baptist Church and loved his Lord with all of his heart. Another love of Alvin’s was his love of his family and friends. When he had time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. When his health allowed, he enjoyed mowing yards. If you knew Alvin, you knew he was a quiet person but if you made him mad you would definitely know he was around.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Callie Buford Moody, their daughter Cathy Jean Moody, Alvin’s mother, Addie Mae Moody, a sister, Linda Brewer and a brother, Tommy Moody. Also surviving Alvin is his extended family: brother in laws: James Spence, Jerry Buford Jr., Gary Buford and Donnie Winberry. Sister in laws: Clara Overman, Louise Burkhead, Sharon Winberry, Christy Buford, Cindy Buford and Wilma Moody. Preceding Alvin in death was his father, Richard Moody, brothers, J.D. and Randy Moody; a sister, Madine Wood; brother in law, Mike Burkhead and a sister in law, Susie Moody.
