Marie G Moser Marie Gerald Moser, 90, passed away on October 31st in Franklin, TN. She was born on January 10, 1932 in Iuka, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Moser, father, Ward Moser, and sisters, Norma Moser and Marion Moser Hawkins. Marie is survived by her sister, Shirley Rushing Poteet (John); nieces Anne Hawkins Perry (Thad), Betsy Hawkins Dodson (Tom); nephews Tom Hawkins and R.W. Rushing; great nephews Jack and Andrew Perry, Joe, Ben, and Sam Dodson; great nieces Abby Hawkins, Ziggy and India Rushing.

Marie attended Draughons Business College in Memphis and worked her entire career as a secretary at the U.S. Naval Base in Millington, TN. She lived in Memphis until 2020 and moved to Franklin in order to live near her niece, Anne Perry, and her family. Marie spent many weekends driving back and forth from Iuka to visit with and care for her parents, Ward and Blanche Moser. She enjoyed spending holidays with her sisters in Texas and was always present for the high school and college graduations and weddings of all of her nieces and nephews.

Marie was fiercely independent and self-sufficient. She followed local politics and the stock market very closely and was keen to share her knowledge with others. Marie also maintained an interest in her hometown of Iuka and always seemed to know about the latest happenings there. She will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Nick Phillips.
