Martha Louise Chapman Ayers, 99, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at her home. Until well in her 80’s, Mrs. Ayers was a custom seamstress. She worked for three different decorators, and while she specialized in drapes and bedding, she could sew anything and did both private and commercial work. When she moved to Iuka, she began attending Iuka Baptist Church and became a member around seven years ago. Before moving to Iuka, she was a member of the Woodbine Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. She loved the Lord and loved attending church. She liked traveling, camping, cooking, and driving. Mrs. Ayers is survived by her son, Barry Britt Ayers (Ellen L.); her grandson, Joseph William Ayers; and her grandchildren, Chanler William and Andi Lynn Ayers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe F. Ayers; her parents; and her siblings. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with her arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, MS. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, MS. A graveside service is set for 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville, TN.
