George Davis WilliamsGeorge Davis Williams, 90, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at his home in Tupelo. He was born in Saltillo on March 24, 1932 to William “Bill” Davis Williams and Minnie Mae Dykes Williams. On June 26, 1951 he married the love of his life, Marion Francis Wood. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a part of the Big Red 1 Company. After he served in the army he went into used car business. In the early 1970’s he went into business for himself and was owner of Herndon William Dodge Dealership. His favorite hobbies are watching westerns and reading. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Webb officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marion Francis Williams; sons, Mitch Williams of Saltillo and Terry Williams (Dianne) of Amory; daughter, Wanda Williams Brewer of Shannon; grandson, Taylor Matthew Williams; step grandchildren, Christy Burrow and Pam Warrinton; step great grandchildren, Sam Warrington, Kirsten Burrow, Frankie Burrow, and Jessie Burrow; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Newell Williams, Tim Williams, and Billy Williams; and sister, Mary Helen Hallmark.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lindley, Phil Hallman, Gary Wood, Russell Wood, Jerry Loden, and Sammy Wood.
