Kenneth Guy Doss, 100, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 PM.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Carmen Amburgey (Michael); granddaughter, Haley Amburgey and countless nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeneral Doss; mother, Ella Doss; wife, Henrietta Doss; son, Timothy Doss; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Kenneth was born in Cullman County. After high school, he joined the Army in 1940 and received honorable discharge in 1945. In 1945, Kenneth enrolled at Auburn University where he received his B.S. in 1949. He received his Master’s Degree from Athens College in 1969. Over the course of his life he had multiple careers as a teacher, principal and a personnel specialist for the U.S. government at Redstone Arsenal. He later retired as a personnel specialist from the state of Florida.
