Robert Steve PaceSteve Pace, age 72, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Northwest Regional Healthcare in Winfield after an extended illness.

Steve was born Sunday, November 20, 1949, to Cecil and Mattie Pace.   He married his high school sweetheart, Pat Elledge and they enjoyed 53 wonderful years together.  He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard and worked at Ford Motor Company.  He was a good man who loved his wife, his daughter who he lovingly called “Nunk”, and his grandchildren.  He loved fishing, camping, Alabama football, and playing with his grandchildren.  He leaves behind many great memories for his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Pace & Mattie Ross Malone Pace Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 53 years, Pat Elledge Pace; his daughter, Sheree Pace Holt (husband, Paul); grandchildren, Chance Holt (wife, Haleigh), Pace Holt; great-grandchildren, Lexton Holt and Jensyn Holt; brother, Jerry Pace (wife, Bonita); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as nieces & nephews.

The visitation will be 12-2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel, with Steve’s grandson, Chance Holt, speaking at the service.  The burial will be at Friendship Baptist Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Tyler Morris, Charles Elledge, Pace Holt, Carson Lawrence, and Mike Martin.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the love and care of our family during this time.
