Kyoko Prieto Kyoko Prieto, 94, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on October 7, 2022, at her residence. Kyoko was born March 9, 1928, in Tokyo, Japan. She is the daughter of the late Fumio and the late Hanako Tsukada. She is the sister of Suzuko Hara and the late Kazuko Tsukada. She married Andrew J. Prieto in 1956 in Tokyo, Japan. She relocated to the United States where she re-married Andrew, and they made it their permanent residence. Andrew preceded her in death on July 24, 2014. She and Andrew taught ball room dancing at Niagra County Community College. She enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes, taking walks in the parks with her husband, and also playing cards with her family members. She was a life-long member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was employed by Niagra Falls Memorial Medical Center as an oxygen therapist for many years prior to retirement. Kyoko is survived by her nieces and nephews, Richard Tomasini (Judy), Patricia Gerou, Robert Tomasini (Sue), Mark Downs (Tracy Bassler), Dawn Cassatt (Richard), Bruce Downs (James), Paul Downs (Michelle), Gerry Downs, Izumi Hara (David Koschik), and Nobumichi Hara (Jane Marie). She was also blessed with many great- and great-great- nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Prieto; her parents, Fumio and Hanako Tsukada; her brother and sisters-in-law, Augustina Downs (Gerald), Paula Tomasini (Richard), and Tadao Hara. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, in entrusted with the arrangements. At Kyoko’s request, she was cremated.
