Carolyn Faye Wadsworth HarbisonCarolyn Faye Wadsworth Harbison, of Arley, peacefully entered into rest at her home, with her family by her side on September 30, 2022. She was born March 12, 1935 and is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, former Mayor of Arley, Albert Brent Harbison; her son, former Mayor of Arley, Allan Brent Harbison; her siblings, Maitland Newsome, Louise McCormic, Dothene Aaron, Dorthen Wadsworth, Sherman Wadsworth, Inez Wadsworth, and her parents, J.E. and Dessa Wadsworth, all of Arley. She is survived by her son, Philip Harbison; daughter, Michelle Harbison Netherton (Bruce); daughter-in-law, Ann Harbison; brother, Ray Wadsworth; four grandchildren, Brittany Ferguson (Tyler), and Justin Harbison (Tiffany), both of Arley, Ethan Netherton (Hanna) of Priceville, and Brady Netherton of Decatur. There are three great-grandchildren, Peyton Johnson, Parker Ferguson, both of Arley, and Keaton Netherton of Priceville, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn attended Meek Elementary and High School, where she was an active student involved with the annual staff, F.H.A., and cheerleading. After which, she was a homemaker, mother and active with the Republican Party in Winston County for many years. In addition, she attended the Republican National Convention in Miami, Florida in August of 1972. She dedicated her life supporting her husband in his numerous endeavors and also participated when possible.

Carolyn was a very private person but she enjoyed watching her sons, Philip and Allan, play sports for Meek High School. Several years later, she liked traveling to competitions and events with her daughter, Michelle, while playing in the Meek High School Band of Champions. Carolyn and Brent did get to enjoy several years of traveling with close friends, family and also with each other.

There will be a memorial graveside service at Arley United Methodist Church Cemetery on Highway 41 in Arley at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022. A light lunch will immediately follow in the fellowship hall. Brother Corey Cochran, nephews, Rodney Hardy and Brother Brandon Harbison will preside.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting gifts be given in her remembrance to the building fund for Meek Baptist Church.
