Roy Leland PiggRoy Leland Pigg, age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Leland was born April 9, 1935, in Summertown, TN to the late Roy Pigg and Ada Helen Rose.
Leland was a hard-working man. His introduction to hard work began at an early age. By the time Leland was 7 years old he was working as a sharecropper, driving a tractor, ploughing fields during the night. This translated into a life of labor. When he and his brothers came of age they all 3 joined the Navy. Leland spent the next four years seasick whenever the ship was in motion. Leland had a knack for fixing things and after he returned from service he worked as a mechanic for the next 50 years. Leland worked hard and provided for his family the best that he could. Leland was a loving father and grandfather and made sure to check in daily on his grandchildren, he never missed a day. If you knew Leland, you knew that he was opinionated and not shy to shoot you straight, but more often than not, Leland had a joke he would crack always drawing a laugh. He loved to sit and have coffee in the morning at Mcdonalds’ and talk about the recent NASCAR race or cars, he could talk about cars until the wheels fell off. Leland was a good man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Leland is survived by his children: Ricky (Cathy) Pigg, Shane Pigg, Heath (Michelle) Pigg, Tanya (Ryan) Creasor, and Brenda Pigg; grandchildren: Samantha Sears, Bethany Jones, Tyler Jones, Kayleigh Rose Pigg, Emerson Burnett, and Gavin Creasor; great-grandchildren: Sophia Looney, Mason Looney, and Jake Looney; siblings: Gene Pigg, Dale Pigg, and Sarah Davis Pigg.
