FLORENCE –The annual Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area photo contest is open. Deadline for entries is Tuesday, November 15.

To enter, simply post a photo you’ve taken of natural beauty in any of MSNHA’s six counties – Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone and Morgan – and post it on your own social-media accounts with hashtag #msnhaphotocontest.

You can enter as many photos as you like, said Carrie Crawford, MSNHA director. After the deadline, MSNHA staffers will pick their favorite images. Winning photographers will receive prize packages with items from local businesses and museums.

“We’ll share the hash-tagged photos on our social media for everyone to enjoy,” Crawford

said. “In addition, we may use some in our marketing campaigns or other publications, although we’ll contact photographers to verify details if we do that. We’ll also contact winning photographers before announcing their prizes.”

A partnership program of the National Park Service, National Heritage Areas recognize regions throughout the country that help tell America’s story. The MSNHA is hosted by the University of North Alabama and focuses on the themes of music, Native Americans and the Tennessee River. Email msnha@una.edu for more information.
