Funeral for Robert L. Cannon, 87, of Town Creek will be Friday, March 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home, with Bro. Nelson Tucker and Bro. Hollis Retherford officiating.
Burial will be in Blackground Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Cannon, who died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, was born in Oklahoma to Florence Maudell Burge and Robert Lemuel Cannon. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, aWorld War II veteran, a Mason and a member of VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera B. Cannon; and his son, Ray Lee Cannon.
Survivors include eight children, R.J. Cannon(Vera Mae), Leon Cannon (Fran), Linda Cobbs (Glen), Barbara Sue Wiley (Late Gerald), Carl Cannon, Jerry Cannon (Suzanne), Jimmy Cannon and Dennis Cannon; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
