Ramona Kay Olson Ramona Kay Olson, age 72, loving wife of Joseph Olson and mother of four children, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Ramona had a loving and generous spirit and, most importantly, a sincere faith in the Lord. Her dedication to God was evident through her marriage of 50 years, raising her children, and teaching. Ramona was a teacher at Athens Bible School, East Limestone Middle School and Athens Middle School. After going back to graduate school at University of Alabama, she became the librarian at Athens Middle School until she retired in 2012. Ramona graciously opened her home and made everyone around her feel heard, loved and encouraged. Whether she was studying her Bible, teaching or serving others, Ramona was always working for the Lord’s Kingdom.

Ramona is survived by her husband Joseph Olson and 4 children: Adam Olson (wife Amanda), Leah Shearer (husband Andrew), Eric Olson (wife Lydia), Anna Kerr (husband David); by twelve beloved grandchildren: Walker, Jennings, Harper, Palmer, Juliet, Jackson, Brendan, Allie, Luke, Violet, Nolan, Daniel; her brother Raymond Banta (wife Terry) and by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Abigail Olson, father, Doyle Banta, and mother, Reba Banta Wharton.

A memorial service for Ramona Olson will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11am at Hall Cemetery (Hall Cemetery Rd. off of East Limestone Road.)

She was a faithful member at Marion Street Church of Christ in Athens, AL at the time of her passing. Flowers will be appreciated or donations made to Athens Bible School.
