Nell May Martin Bevis was born May 19, 1931 in Iron City, TN, the daughter of the late Coleman Frank and Eula E Martin. She was united in marriage to Willie Dalton Bevis and he preceded her in death on August 8, 1986. Mrs. Bevis was a certified nurses aide. She was a member of the Waynesboro Church of Christ in Waynesboro, TN and departed this life on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 91 Years, 4 Months, 1 Day.
She is survived sons, Bobby Bevis, wife, Regina and Rex Bevis, wife, Ann all of Waynesboro, TN, Robert Bevis, wife, Mavis of Collinwood, TN and Willie Bevis, wife, Nonie of Worden, IL; grandchildren, Chris Bevis, Derrick Bevis, wife Julia, Amanda Bevis Jacobs, husband, Jake, Wendy Bevis Daniel, husband, Ben, Anna Brooke Lee, husband, Ryan and Suzanne Bevis; sisters, Iva McNutt of Chattanooga, TN, Frankie Morgan of Waynesboro, TN and Jean Littrell, husband, Elmo of Collinwood, TN; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bevis was preceded in death by son, Earnest Bevis and sisters, Lois Watkins, Lucille Keeton and Lila Whitehead.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro, TN, with Cary Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Derrick Bevis, Chris Bevis, Drew Bevis, Blaine Bevis, Jaylen Bevis and Jacob Bevis with honorary pallbearers being Ben Daniel, Jake Jacobs and Ryan Lee.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Butterfly Foundation.
