ATHENS-The Athens Police released a statement concerning the robbery of a carwash in Athens and the arret of a suspect in this robbery:
“On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 3:49 pm, employees of Wash N Shine car wash reported a robbery to the Athens Police Department. This business is located at 1214 US 31 South. A black male demanded money and displayed a handgun. He then fired one round into the ground and fled the area.
Officers responded to the scene and began searching for the suspect. Cameron Jamal Turner, 21 was taken into custody a short time later on McClellan Street.
Turner has been charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
This investigation is on going.”
