Tula Bolton Mitchell, 88, of Huntsville passed away Sunday. Tula was born to Tullie and Bensie Bolton in Dellrose, TN. She graduated from Elkton High School where she played girls varsity basketball.

Retiring from Redstone Federal Credit Union, she worked in banking in Huntsville her entire career. She was a wonderful wife and mother, loved her family, and would do anything to help them.

Tula was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Mitchell, her parents, three brothers, Charles, James and Tommy Bolton, and two sisters, Juanita and Pauline Bolton.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Mitchell Douglas (and partner, Danny Cox), and her companion, best friend and caregiver, Paul Hoffman.

The family gives special thanks for the compassionate care given by Hospice of Alabama.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday, September 22 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
