Phyllis Rivers Minor Phyllis Rivers Minor, 72 of Cherokee, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dwight Rivers officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Phyllis was a native of Cherokee and a member of Pride Missionary Baptist Church. To know Phyllis was to love her, her smile and humor were the best. She loved jewelry and was always dressed to match. She loved to crochet and made many baby blankets and other items. Phyllis was blessed with a beautiful voice and artistic ways. She loved her family with all she had and lived her life with a trust in God that no matter what she faced she knew He was going to help her thru it. She took pride in being “2-Momma” to her precious grandkids. “You weren’t just a star to me you were my whole entire sky.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Stephen Minor and their Angel Baby; parents, J.B. and Jewel Dean Rivers; and precious brother, Ricky Rivers.

Phyllis is survived by her children, John Stephen Minor (Brandy), Alisa Minor McCauley (Jeff), and Jessica Minor Thornton (BJ); brother, Dwight Rivers (Kathy); sisters, Donna Wallace (Curtis), Vicky Worsham (Mike); grandchildren, Chloe McCauley, Christian McCauley, Luke Minor, Emma Minor, Sara Thornton, and Abigail Thornton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, James Rivers, Derrick Wallace, Wade Wallace, Zach Hamilton, Mike Worsham, and Scott Isbell. Honorary pallbearers are Christian McCauley and Luke Minor.

The family expresses special thanks to all the family, friends, and caregivers, who helped love and care for their mother.
