On Saturday, September 10, Donald Ivel Morgan, passed away at the age of seventy-nine. He was born November 15, 1942, in Russell Springs, Kentucky. Don was the second of five children born to Lena Mae and Ivel Morgan. He was predeceased by his siblings Judith Morgan, Carolyn Lowe, and Rosemary Gantzer. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mary Jo Morgan; daughter, Joan Strehlein; son, Jeffrey Morgan; younger brother, Fred Morgan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Katherine, Nathaniel, and Benjamin Morgan; as well as, two step-grandchildren, Benjamin and Samantha Smith.

Don graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended the Ohio Mechanics Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He worked as a draftsman, designer, and engineer spending most of his career working on the Patriot Missile System for CAS, Inc. and Raytheon. He was an entrepreneur, who along with several different business partners, started six businesses: Autohaus, a Volkswagen parts and repair shop; Sound on Wheels, a car stereo shop; ExceLawn, a lawn spraying service; Manufacturer’s Design, Inc., an engineering design firm; Triumph Research, Inc., a temperature control system solutions company; and Diadem, Inc., a Biblically inspired wood inlaid music box company. He was also a licensed Realtor for Rise Real Estate.

He was active in several local churches serving in a variety of capacities over the years. He traveled extensively and had diverse interests including drag racing, motorcycle racing, painting, photography, sailing, flying, woodworking, and reading. He was known for helping others and fixing almost anything. He was a generous kind person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 24th in the Sanctuary of The Rock Family Worship Center at 3401 Holmes Ave, Huntsville, AL 35816 with visitation at 4PM and a service at 5PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to The Rock Family Worship Center, Israel Fund.
