D.9.16.22 Etlean Gordon.jpg Funeral Service for Mrs. Etlean Parham Gordon 73 of Decatur, AL. will be 1:00PM Saturday at Macedonia C.P.C.A. with Rev. Marsh officiating. Inhumation will follow in Decatur City Cemetery. Public viewing will only be one hour prior to service at the church.  Mrs. Gordon transitioned on September 10, 2022, at the Decatur General Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Mrs. Etlean Parham Gordon was born on May 21, 1949 to the late Mrs. Lizzie Jones Parham and Mr. Mose Parham Sr.  She confessed hope in Christ in 1958 and joined Bethlehem P.B. Church in Greenbrier, AL, under the leadership of the Rev. Willie Eddie Owes.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Leonard Thomas Gordon for 52 years, and to this union two children were born.

Etlean was employed at Decatur General Hospital for thirty-seven years until her health failed and she retired. She was a firm, loving and caring person. She wanted things to be done right, and people to be treated fairly. She often said, “I wished I had a business so I could show other businesses how to treat their employees.” She truly loved the Lord and will be missed by her family and friends. She found so much joy in the rearing of her grandchildren.

Those who are left to share her legacy of love are: her loving husband, Leonard Gordon, Sr; one son, Leonard Thomas Gordon, Jr (Tamatha); one daughter, Syreeta Sheron (Maurice) Bolden, all of Decatur; a stepson, Kenneth (Rebecca) Lockett, Sr. of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Erron Garth, Erric Garth, Leonard Gordon, III;  one grand stepson, Kenneth Lockett, Jr.; three granddaughters, Morgan Rogers of Huntsville, AL, Madison and McKenzie Gordon of Decatur; two great grandchildren,, Erron Garth Jr. and Layla Bolden;  five sisters, Minnie (Frank) Wilson, Annie (David) Robinson, Ella Parham all of Huntsville, AL, Mary Harvell, Madison, AL, Martha (Norman) Gilbert of Athens, AL;  sisters-in law, Lela Parham, Shirley Perienchief, Diane Manning, Sally Todd and Minnie Gordon;  brothers-in-law, Kirk, Maurice and Nelson Gordon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
