Tuscumbia to Host Grand Opening at New City Hall

TUSCUMBIATUSCUMBIA– Mark your calendars….on March 14, the public is invited to visit Tuscumbia’s new City Hall for the Grand Opening.  A ribbon cutting ceremony will officially open the building at 10:00 a.m.  City officials and Shoals Chamber of Commerce officials will be joined by the Deshler High School Band to kick-off the day.

The former post office building, located at 116 East Sixth Street, has undergone an extensive renovation, properly suiting it to serve the city as its municipal headquarters. Complimentary refreshments will be served and tours will be conducted all day, 10:00 a.m. until 5 p.m.

“Townspeople fondly remember the old post office and have been looking forward to seeing the results of the renovation,” said Mayor Bill Shoemaker.  “We can’t wait to show it off!”

The mural depicting the founding of the town has been retained and is a focal point of the building.  Fully handicapped accessible, the building is serviced by an elevator.

The  Grand Opening of the new City Hall on March 14 with Ribbon Cutting  starts at 10:00 a.m. followed by complimentary refreshments and tours of the newly renovated former post office building throughout the day, until 5:00 p.m.  The public is invited to celebrate!
