Mr. JV Moody, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, stepped into eternity at age 87 on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his home in Scotts Hill, TN. He was born December 22, 1934 in Henderson County to the late Cooper Lee Moody and Vergie Powers Moody.
Mr. Moody was retired from Proctor and Gamble, and he was an active member and officer of Judson Baptist Church. JV was also a 32nd degree Mason at Cheap Valley Lodge in Chesterfield, TN, who had conferred many degrees in the surrounding area lodges. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed bowling, keeping an immaculate yard, and watching the Tennessee VOLS play. J V loved his family dearly, and he seldom missed an athletic or musical event.
Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Mrs. Peggy Drusilla Dickson Moody.
Survivors include his daughter, Debby Lipscomb (Bobby), his son, Ronnie Moody (Linda); three brothers: Jerry Moody (Glee), Clifford Moody (Martha), and Paul Moody (Ann); three sisters: Faye Sims, Marilyn Owens, and Diane McBride; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dickson Walker; three grandchildren: Lori Herrington (Michael), Brittany Carver (Adam), and John Moody (Erin); one step-granddaughter, Lisa Thomas (Rob); four great-grandchildren: Faith Herrington, Scarlett Carver, Jensen Carver, and Luna Moody; two step great-grandchildren: Jonathan Thomas and Taylor Thomas (Katy).
JV had a dear friend later in life, Ms. June Rhodes, with whom he enjoyed eating dinner and attending church.
The family will receive friends on Friday 5-9 PM, and on Saturday 11 AM-3:30 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington TN. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery.
