Janice Lee Spence, 76 of Elkmont, passed away on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, at Hospice Family Care. Ms. Spence was born on March 17, 1946, to Coy Lee and Evelyn Lovett Spence.
Ms. Spence is survived by her brother Grady Spence (Maria); sister-in-law Dianne Spence-Hall; and nieces and nephews Michelle Lay, Meria Rigney, J.W. Spence, William Spence, and John Spence.
Preceded in death by her parents; brothers Richard Spence and William “Bill” Spence; and cousin Shela Wales.
Funeral services for Ms. Spence will be Saturday, September 10th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Pettusville Cemetery, with Marcus Hobbs officiating.
Ms. Spence graduated from Elkmont High School in 1964, received a B.A. from Auburn University in 1968, and continued her graduate work in Economics and Finance at Auburn and Ole Miss. She taught Economics and Finance at U.A.M., Florence State, and U.A.H.. She loved teaching, reading, crime shows, and Auburn football.
