SHEFFIELD-The Shoals Area Labor Council held their annual dinner to kick off the Labor Day  festivities in Tuscumbia.

During the dinner on Sunday evening the Council honored Sgt. Nick Risner with a Friend of Labor Posthumous Person Of The Year.  Other awards honoring Men and women of Labor were: Ed Blasingame, IBEW Local 558 with Labor Person of the Year, James “Bud” Blackstock, IBEW Local 558 Apprentice Coordinator (retired) with Hall of Fame Person of the Year, Carl Phillips, Boilermakers Local 455 Business Agent with Hall of Fame Posthumous, Ray Campbell, former Senator (retired) with 2022 Friend of Labor Person of the Year, Lynn Gist with Labor Administrative Person of the Year.

The food was great, the fellowship was great seeing old friends and making new ones.  The Politicos were out in force to show support for Labor and The Quad Cities Daily was on hand to capture the event in photos.
