Convicted Murder From Lauderdale County Found Dead In Limestone Correctional Facility

Limestone Correctional Facility - Prison Insight  LIMESTONE COUNTY-A Lauderdale County man, Jonathan Cossey, 42 died while serving a life sentence for a murder committed in Lauderdale County, was found unresponsive in his cell on Thursday, according to the ADOC spokesperson.

According to a spokesperson from the Alabama Department of Corrections staff at the Limestone County Correctional Facility attempted life-saving measures on Cossey.  The attempts to save his life were not successful and he was transported to the facility healthcare where he was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.

The ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division is investigating the cause of death and is awaiting the results of a full autopsy.

Cossey pleaded guilty to killing two people during a robbery in 2009.
