Willie Lou Lovelace Willie Lou Karr Lovelace, age 83, passed away Thursday, August 04, 2022, at her residence. She was born in Detroit, Alabama on Saturday, March 25, 1939, to Elton H. Karr and Ruby Lewis Karr.

Willie attended Hamilton High School and was a member of Kingsville Church of Christ for over forty years. She graduated from Caraway Methodist nursing school in 1960. She was the second Hospice Nurse in the state of Alabama. Retired from long term care with the United Mine Works Association. She continued to volunteer with Hospice for many years. She loved gardening and made quilts for most of her grand and great-grandchildren. She loved to journal her travels and in 1993 published her book, The Rivers of Dover.

On May 01, 2015, The Alabama Board of Nursing presented a certificate of appreciation to Willie Lovelace, RN in recognition of her dedicated service to the nursing profession during a distinguished career as a professional with over 50 years of licensure.

Her visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, August 06, 2022, at Marion County Funeral Home.

The service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 06, 2022, in the chapel with Bro Jason Jarrett officiating and burial at Carter Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Ruby Karr; sister, Ruby Cooper.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 39 years, Bobby Carl Lovelace; children, Renee Patterson Person (Joel), Bert Patterson III (Terry), Jennifer Patterson McGavock (Mark), Jill Lovelace Montgomery (Frank), grandchildren, Trisha Anne Hall, Alan Cartwright Jr., Danielle Patterson, Clinton Patterson, Rebecca McGavock, Savannah McGavock, Anna Montgomery Peacock, Emily Montgomery, Laila Atkinson, great-grandchildren, Dakota Fulmer, Isabelle Mary Mae Hall, Louisa Eleanor Ruby Hall, Olivia Lynn Patterson, Evelyn Louise Patterson; brother, Lewis Karr, a host of beloved family and friends.
