Jerry O. McGee, of Decatur, AL passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2022. His visitation will be on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 1-3 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3 PM in the Chapel with Pastor Keith Price, and Pastor Jimmie Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

 

Jerry is survived by his wife Joy McGee, daughters Rhonda Smith (Eugene), Kathy Hunt, step daughters Jackie Bowling, Tina Johnson (Terry), Kathy Shelton, grandchildren Dannielle Watley (Eric), Jamie Canter, Amanda Porter (Chuck), Chris Fox (Dana), Anna Vanacor (James), Autumn Hunt, Adam, Eric, Brittany, and Casey. 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and sister Gloria Dillard (Tilden).

 

He is preceded in death by his parents Curtis McGee and Ida Newton, his first wife of 54 years Ewatha McGee, daughters Karen Russell, and Kim Harville and sisters Edna Jordan, Brenda Bradshaw, and Vicki Ryan.

Jerry was born in Rogersville, Al he joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served 8 years. He graduated San Diego High School while serving in the Navy. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Athens State University. He retired from Montesanto after 34 years. After retirement he spent his years traveling the U.S. with his Goldwing Club and vacationing at many resorts out of his motor home. He was a resident of Decatur, Al. Jerry passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his family.

Those serving as Pall Bearers are: Chris Fox, Eugene Smith, James Vanacor, Jamie Canter, Chuck Porter, and Len Fox.
