Stella West was born on November 27, 1931 in Mississippi. On March 24, 1947 she was united in marriage to John Henry West , who preceded his wife in death on February 13, 1978.
Stella worked for over 40 years at Garan Sportswear. She was a member of First Christian Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. Stella had a green thumb. She enjoyed walking daily, with stick in hand, through out the neighborhood. Stella was well known for her gentle soul and never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She loved her family first and foremost. Stella was loved by many and her family and neighborhood called her “Granny”.
She departed this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 8 months, and 7 days.
Stella is survived by her son, Henry Leroy West and his wife Wanda of Stantonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Phylicia Gibbs and her husband Gill and Wendy West; great grandchildren, Aaron Baker, Kameron west, Beadie Gibbs, and Dakota Sellers; great great grandchild, Jett Baker; and brother, Gene Watson of Tupelo, Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded by two sons, George Cutrer and Johnny West; sister, Pauline Douglass; and brothers, Battie Martin and Bill Martin.
