Norma Sue Staggs Pope was born January 11, 1937 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Clarence and Delia Gobbell Staggs. She was united in marriage to Dallas Lewis Pope on November 21, 1953 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2012. Mrs. Pope departed this life on August 2, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 22 days.
She is survived by a son, Rayford Pope and wife Teresa; two sisters, Lois Crews and Carol Thompson; and a great grandchild, Gage Pope, all of Waynesboro, TN.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Pope and four brothers, Lonnie Staggs, Mack Staggs, Marvin Staggs, and Lawrence Staggs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN, with John Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery at Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
