Mary Marie Wilkerson, age 83 of Belvidere, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St Thomas West Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on April 23, 1939 to the late William Henry and Ethel Lee (Steele) Morris. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a secretary in the human relations department at Tepro, as a dental assistant for Dr. Hardison and Dr. Stewart, and as a teaching assistant for Franklin County Schools. Mary had operated her own upholstery business up until the last few years. A faithful and dedicated member of Keith Springs Baptist Church, she loved serving the Lord and always remembered to put God first, family second. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening, as well as cooking and baking. She was a “Pink Lady” volunteer at the hospital and served on the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board for Disaster Relief. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Prentice Wilkerson; siblings, Robert Morris, J.D. Morris, Albert Morris, Claude Morris, Fannie Graves, Nellie Morris, Louise Hager, and Daisy Everett; and son, Ronald Wilkerson. Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Sherri Shamwell, Lisa (Eric) Bradford, and Ann Marie (Barry) Couch; daughter-in-law, Candy Coker; grandchildren, Rachel (David) Simmons, Jessica McCay, Corin (Brandon) Butler, Ethan Bradford, Jordan (Shanda) Hawkersmith, Haley (James) Douglas, Tiffani (Tyler) Thompson, Tyler (Mackenzie) Couch, and Dimikol (Amber) Coker; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Danner) Stewart; brothers, Donald (Jan) Morris, and R.B. Morris; and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2022 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Tim McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Gardens Cemetery with Jordan Hawkersmith, Tyler Couch, Tyler Thompson, James Douglas IV, Brandon Butler, and Ethan Bradford serving as pallbearers, and Dimikol Coker and Daulton Simmons serving as honorary pallbearers.
