Franklin County Watermelon Festival Set For August 19-20

RUSSELLVILLE-Watermelons are the focus as Russellville celebrates the Annual Franklin County Watermelon Festival…Welcome to the Watermelon Capital of Alabama! All the fun on August 19 and 20. The festival is always held on the third weekend of August and brings in crowds as large as 50,000 people.

Enjoy this free family event in Downtown Russellville with festival food, vendors, car & truck show, 5k and one mile fun run, and kids area with rides and games. Each evening the main stage lights up with performances from a variety of genres. Enjoy a fresh, sweet slice of watermelon on Saturday morning in the park while you peruse watermelon contest entries in categories such as best dressed to most unusual.

Set your watch for noon on Saturday to witness the weighing of the largest watermelons around!
