Charles Junior Skidmore Charles Junior Skidmore, age 82, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, August 03, 2022, at Burns Nursing Home.

Charles retired from U.S. Reduction Steel and the Franklin County Highway Department. He was a member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ. He loved Alabama football and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marqueta Cook; parents, Roy Andrew & Annie (Wilson) Skidmore; brothers, Elbert Skidmore, Jack Skidmore, and sister, Nettie Snyder.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Virginia Smith Skidmore; son-in-law, Stephen Cook; grandchildren, Catherine Stinson (Trey), Charles Cook (Anna); great-granddaughter, Riley Stinson; special nephew, Jason Skidmore (Shannon); and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.

The visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 05, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Bro. Gary Carter will speak at the service. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Burns Nursing Home for your love and care, as well as a special thanks for many years of care to Dr. Lyman Mitchell.
