Mr. Alonza K. Hodges of the Brooklyn Community of Holly Pond Alabama, passed away on Saturday July 30, 2022. Mr. Hodges was born to James Arthur Hodges and Rosie Mae Helton on December 19, 1942. Mr. Hodges worked as an installer for heating and air conditioning, and was married to Sherry Lynn Saint-Hodges for 57 years. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Hazel Green. He enjoyed working on small engines and raising cattle. He loved playing horse shoes, corn-hole, and watching Alabama football.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife; Sherry “Shirley” Hodges, son; Steven Hodges, daughters; Monica Roberts, Amy Blair (Nathan), and Beth Wood (James) brothers; Randy Hodges (Sandy) and Jack Hodges, sister; Barbara Webster (Bill), 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hodges is preceded in death by his parents; James Arthur Hodges and Rosie Mae Helton, brothers; Kenny, James “Buddy”, John, Larry, and Butler “Rag” Hodges, and sisters; Margaret Esslinger, and Genvea Wilbourn.
A visitation for Mr. Hodges will be Wednesday August 3, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Brother Floyd Bradford at Arab Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Baileyton Cemetery.
