Mrs. Doris Jean Weaver Cruise of Arab Alabama, passed away on Saturday July 30, 2022. Mrs. Cruise was born to Buford R. Weaver and Dessie Samples Weaver on October 6, 1928. She was married to the late Willard Cruise. She was a lifelong resident of Arab and member of Gilliam Springs Baptist Church. She loved to cook and work in her garden. She loved visiting with her friends, her time in her Sunday school classes at Gilliam Springs, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Cruise is survived by her sons; Larry Cruise and his wife Cynthia, and Vandy Cruise and his wife Carolyn, 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cruise is preceded in death by her husband; Willard Cruise, parents; Buford and Dessie Weaver, granddaughter; Dawnielle Cruise, and 10 siblings.
A visitation for Mrs. Cruise is scheduled for Tuesday August 2, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church. Services to follow, officiated by Brother Jamey Pruett, at 3:00 p.m. with interment in Gilliam Springs Cemetery.
Escorting Mrs. Cruise to her final resting place are Robert Cruise, Chris Miller, Chris Johnson, Travis Porter, Tommy Strawn, and Dawson Johnson.
