Helen Marie Stafford Helen Marie Stafford, age 76, passed away July 30, 2022, at her Life Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Helen was born December 4, 1945, in Metcalf County, KY to the late Rollin Otis and Florence England.
Helen was a woman of strong faith, down-to-earth, and truly kind. In everything that she did her faith was evident. Helen lived her life according to her principles. She was raised on a farm in Kentucky where she learned the value of hard work and what it can take to get by. She carried those lessons throughout her life and alongside her husband raised her family with those same values. She loved going to New Macedonia Freewill Baptist where she enjoyed sharing God’s word; she taught Sunday school for over 20 years and loved Gospel music. Helen also enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping or tending to her roses. She could often be found sewing, working hard on the next quilt she was crafting. Her greatest joy though was her family. It was very important and must be mentioned that each and every day had to start out with her cup of coffee. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Helen was the true matriarch of her family, she made the holidays special and always made sure no one went hungry. She was full of love and she gave it freely. Helen is loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years Albert T. Stafford; children: Terry Lee (Traciee) Stafford, Sherry (Kevin) Guest, and Billy Joe Stafford; grandchildren: Jessica Lyne Stafford, Heather (Brady) Clark, Jacob Rollin (Erica) Stafford, Leea Stafford, Leon Guest, Emily Guest, and Tiffany Guest; great-grandchildren: Astrid Stafford, Serenity Hope Clark, Nevaeh Lee, and Madeline Lee.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Ed Luna officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, Tennessee.
