On July 28, 2022, Anne Gail “Bitsy” Thomas Flake of Huntsville, Alabama passed away at the age of 84. Bitsy was born in Huntsville on February 6, 1938, to Carl and Alma Thomas. She attended Huntsville High School, and Auburn University where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Bitsy was a long-standing member of First United Methodist Church of Huntsville, as well as a member of the Junior League of Huntsville and Grace Club Auxiliary. Bitsy will be remembered for her love of her family and friends, for being a wonderful cook and hostess, and for her passion for reading.

Bitsy is survived by her sister, Jane Sullivan of Americus, Georgia; her four sons, Karl Roth (Toni) of Huntsville, Eric Roth (Lisa) of Birmingham, Peter Roth (Dawn) of Huntsville, Kurt Roth of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and two nephews, Blake Sullivan (Isabelle) of Macon, Georgia and John Sullivan (Cheryl) of Atlanta, Georgia. Bitsy was very proud of her twelve grandchildren who all called her “B”. Her grandchildren are Olivia Roth, Peyton Roth, Anna Ryane Roth, Lee Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Paul Roth, Blake Roth, Rachel Roth, Courtney Roth, Robert Roth, Megan Roth and Madison Roth.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022, from 10 am to noon at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, followed by a private graveside service at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorials in honor of Bitsy may be sent to Merrimack Hall, 3320, Triana Boulevard, SE Huntsville, 35805 (Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center) or to a charity of choice.
