Marveline Burnett Marveline Burnett, 89 of Addison, passed away July 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 23, 1933 in Lawrence County, AL to Charlie McCafferty and Grace McClellan McCafferty.

Marveline was known as “Granny” to her children, grandchildren, and some special friends. She was known as “Sister” not only to her brother and sisters, but her other relatives as well. She managed and worked in the restaurant business for close to 30 years. She loved to cook. We still have people say, “Nobody could make chicken fingers, fried catfish, and coconut pie like your Momma.” She loved watching the birds, but especially hummingbirds.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home Addison. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 1, 2022 in the chapel of Nichols Funeral Home Addison with Bro. Roger Aldridge officiating. Interment will in Center Cemetery.

Marveline is survived by her son, James Burnett and wife Annette; daughters, Judy Burnett and Peggy Armstrong and husband Jack; sisters, Christeen Gibson and Iva Dean Wilburn; brother, Dite McCafferty; grandchildren, Shannon Banks, Jeremy Burnett, and Leslie Burnett Smith; great grandchildren, Braden Burnett, Caden Burnett, Lexi Grace Smith, and Kennedy Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie McCafferty and Grace McClellan McCafferty; husband, James Locle Burnett aka John; daughter, Debra Burnett King; sister, Juanita McCafferty; brothers, Tom McCafferty, Elvie McCafferty, and Charlie Willard McCafferty; brother-in-law, Hershel Jackson; and sister-in-law, Sonja Jackson.

Pallbearers will be James Burnett, Shannon Banks, Jeremy Burnett, Braden Burnett, Caden Burnett, and Raymond Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglas Greenhaw, Jerry Greenhaw, Rick England, Carl England, and Gary England.
