Mr. Billy Ray Nix of Joppa Alabama passed away on Thursday July 28, 2022 at his residence. He was 84. Mr. Nix was born on August 28, 1938 to Lavon Ray Nix and Pauline Smith. He was a brick mason by trade and was married to the now late Ester Ann Mays-Nix. He enjoyed tinkering with projects and working on old cars. He spent time gardening and watching boxing, and Auburn Football.
Mr. Nix is survived by sons; Donahue Nix (Debbie), and Bobby Warren Nix, brothers; Jackie Nix (Loretta) and Robert Nix, sisters; Ruby Maples, and Shelby Woods, and grandchildren; Chad Ray Nix, Matthew Ryan Nix, Danieale Leak, Jada Nix, and Shane Hornsby.
Mr. Nix is preceded in death by his wife; Ester Ann Mays-Nix, parents; Lavon and Pauline Nix, son; Wade Nix, and grandson; Dusty Nix.
A visitation for Mr. Nix will be Monday August 1, 2022 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Services for Mr. Nix will be on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at 11:00 am officiated by Brother Jimmy Hamaker and Brother Tim Parrish at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Arab Memorial Cemetery.
