Donald “Don” Hale, 86, of Moulton, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the funeral home with Hollis Rutherford and Greg Dutton officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.

Born on June 22, 1936 to Hardie and Margaret Hutto Hale, Donald attended Chalybeate School and was a Baptist. He loved hunting, fishing, growing a garden, mowing and spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grand children.

Survivors include his wife Mattie Nell Hale ; children, Donna Hale Simmons (John), Eddie Hale, Cindy Hale (Mike Letson); grandchildren, Cody Hale (Hannah), Aleshia Melson (Chad), Haley McKelvey, and Erica McKelvey; great-grandchildren, Landry Hooper, Addison Hale, Harper Hale, Will Steadman, and Wes Steadman; brother, Jim “Willard” Hale (Janet); and a host of loved nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Hardie Hale; brothers, B.L. “Junior” Hale, Silas Hale, Dick Hale, and Bill Hale; sisters, Nina Letson, Melba Bundrick, Nadine Thomas, and Inos Letson; and great-grandson, Laine Hooper.

Pallbearers will be Mike Letson, Sam Melson, Tony Pitt, Dylan Sawyer, Dale Letson, and Andy Pitt. Honorary pallbearers are John Simmons, Chad Melson, Cody Hale, Steve White.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Robert Hall, Dr. Rex Tuckier, the NHC and Enhabit Hospice staff especially her hospice nurses, Ally Baugh and Jennifer Stokes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enhabit Hospice.
