Funeral services for Mr. Loyal “Benson” Rushing, age 84, are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, July 28, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Rushing Family Cemetery. Mr. Rushing passed away late Monday at his home in Scotts Hill. He was born September 11, 1937 in Decatur County to the late Arch and Zumer Phillips Rushing. He was a retired truck driver and enjoyed playing music, singing, and spending time with his family. Mr. Rushing was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Paulette Rushing; three brothers, Jim, Harry, and Truman Rushing; one sister, Imogene Weems; one grandson, Noah; and two great grandchildren, Hanna and Shelby. Survivors include his four sons, Marty Rushing (Susan), Steve Rushing (Donna), Michael Rushing (Karen), and Chris Rushing; two brothers, Jerry Rushing (Linda) and Nelson Rushing (Mae); three sisters, Flora Plucinski (Jim), Charolette Mathis (the late John), and Mary Nell Tubbs (Jerry); four grandchildren, April Tutor (Wes), Matt Rushing, Adam Rushing, and Mikael Rushing; five great grandchildren, Destiny, Haley, Haven, Carter, and Spencer; and one great-great grandson, Ernest Lane Wolfe. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 12 – 9 PM and on Thursday, 11 AM – 2 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill.
