DAVID GARNER was born March 19, 1948, in Town Creek, AL to the late Kimpnezor Sr. and Annie Lee Yates Garner. He joined the body of Christ through confession and baptism at an early age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful and devoted member until his health failed him.

He is proceeded in death by his granddaughter Layla Donelle Garner, two brothers: Kimpnezor Jr and Arther Anthony, one sister: Vivian Garner.

David was a graduate of Central High School class of 1966. After Graduation he moved to Chattanooga, TN where he made life-long friends. He was employed at Combustion Engineering Co. INC. and became a member of the quartet group The Mighty Gospel Kings. Later after moving back to Alabama, he rejoined his brothers in the quartet group the Garner Brothers, and they are still ministering in song for well over 50 years. David loved gospel singing and was always inspired by young people singing for God. Consequently, he formed Uncle David and the boys which originally featured his then 4yr old grandson RJ a.k.a “the Cooling Water Boy” and his son Chadrick Orr, his godson Quanti Orr, and his nephews: Douglass Orr, Glendrick Glayes, & Deondrick Orr. Later the group was joined by his son Norman Garner, and his nephews Harold Garner and Reun Orr.

David leaves to cherish his memory: two sons Norman Garner (Daphne) of Town Creek, AL., Chadrick Orr (LaTasia) of Courtland, AL.; two daughters Dietrich Orr (Russell Sr) of Town Creek, AL., Talicia Orr of Courtland, AL; six grandchildren: Deysha Nicole Garner, Norman Darnell Garner II, Russell O’Neal Orr Jr, Alexandria Le’Anne Orr (affectionately known by her grandfather as “Whoo”) Alasia Sanaa Orr, and Chaylon Levaughn Orr.
