Paul H. Blackwell Paul Hundley Blackwell, 95, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday,  July 19, 2022, at his home.  His funeral will be on Sunday, July 24, 2022,  2pm, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, The Rev. Stacey Nelson officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

He was born on August 12, 1926 to Robert B. Blackwell and Ruth Ellis Blackwell. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Betty Hunter Blackwell;  Four sisters: Margaret Tuten , Jane Harris, Ruth Simrell,  Ann Britnell ; and two brothers: Robert Blackwell and Sam Blackwell.

   He is survived by three sons, Paul H. Blackwell, Jr. (Lauren), Robert H. Blackwell (Kay),  Greg P. Blackwell; and one daughter  Amy B. Ross (Tom).  He is survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Blackwell attended the Decatur School System. Upon graduation  from Riverside High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater during WWII.  He received a B.S. in Industrial Management from Auburn University. He began his career with Wolverine Tube in 1950 and retired as Director of Material Control after 36 years of service.   He was active in the work of Decatur Boys Club and served as a member of its Board of Directors. He was a past member of Kiwanis, Decatur Civitan Club and Alabama Business Research Council.  He was a lifetime member and elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 801 Jackson Street, Decatur 35601, or Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745,  Decatur, 35601.
