Lucille Bailes, 91, of Cottondale, Alabama formerly of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at her home. She was the daughter of Smith Campbell and Alma Merrell Campbell.
She was born and raised here. She married and moved to Huntsville, Alabama. After her husband died she moved back to Ardmore for 17 years and then moved to Tuscaloosa for 17 years.
Ms. Bailes was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, Edward L.D. Bailes; brothers, Clyde Campbell, Willard Campbell, Edward Campbell and Joe Campbell; sister, Helen Bailes.
She is survived by her son, Donald R. Bailes of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Diane (Tim) Kimbrow of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters, Sarah Finley of Ardmore, AL and Martha Thompson of Columbiana, AL; grandchildren, Justin Bailes of Athens, AL, Brian Kimbrow of Tuscaloosa, AL, Calvin Kimbrow of Cottondale, AL and Nicole Hardesty of Tucson, AZ; great-grandchildren, Mason Kimbrow, Audrey Bailes, Aubrey Hardesty, Evan Kimbrow, Jaxon Bailes, Jordyn Bailes and Lyla Kimbrow; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 11 AM – 12 Noon at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL with Chapel Service following at 12 Noon with Bro. Steve Hargrove and Bro. Rickey Campbell officiating. Burial will be Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
Pallbearers will be Brian Kimbrow, Calvin Kimbrow, Justin Bailes, Tony Lindeman, Mason Kimbrow, and Evan Kimbrow. Honorary pallbearer is Jaxon Bailes.
