Martha Ann Griffin Cook of Anderson, AL
Martha went home to be with the Lord July 3, 2022. Born July 30, 1956, at D.E. Jackson Memorial Hospital Lester, AL to James Douglas Griffin and Doris Burgess Griffin.
Martha was a 1974 graduate of Lauderdale County High School. She was of Baptist faith. During her life she worked for several different companies doing accountant and clerical work for 30 plus years. In 2007 she was able to quit working to travel with her husband for 11 years which she thoroughly enjoyed. She often spoke of the beautiful places they were able to see as they traveled for his job. She enjoyed spending time on the Tennessee River boating, skiing, and sunbathing. Her next favorite place was a beach on the Gulf Coast, she enjoyed sitting on the beach enjoying the sound of the waves she often spoke about how relaxing and peaceful that atmosphere made her feel. She enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and listening to old classic country music. She loved Alabama football and looked forward to a new football season each fall. She loved her husband of 14 years, her children, and her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with Bill and Jane Tidwell and playing cards.
Martha was preceded in death by both of her parents and one brother James Martin Griffin.

Her children Roxy Ritter Day (Jonathan) Athens, AL, T.J. Thrasher (Jodi) Rogersville, AL, Shellie Thrasher Lovell (Malcolm) Decatur, AL, Chris Cook (Julie) Rogersville, AL, Jenny Cook Weigner (Justin) Anderson, AL and Scott Cook Rogersville, AL
Her grandchildren Anna Lauren Day Athens, AL, Drake Thomas Thrasher, Nathan James Thrasher, Cole Jayden Thrasher all of Rogersville, AL, Bella Grace Lovell, Bryson Ross Lovell, Blair Elaine Lovell all of Decatur, AL and Barrett Jeffers Cook Rogersville, AL
Two nieces Kristy Griffin Poole, Tanner AL and Melanie Griffin Williams, Athens AL
Several brother and sister in laws and other family members.
We would like to thank Limestone Hospice Care for the wonderful care they took of Martha during her last three weeks. Special thank you to Jane Tidwell and Janice Dean for helping care for Martha.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Martha.

Visitation will be Monday, July 4th from 10 – 11 a.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow in the chapel.
